an engagement surprise!

When Georgia and I first spoke about her plans for an Intimate Wedding, she expressed that she wanted a day full of fun, and love - and didn't want the stresses that many experience on a traditional wedding day. Thomas and Georgia had planned to announce their marriage at their engagement party, as a surprise to all of their guests. SO with that, we had about 3 months to plan their dreamy love story!

When I first sent out their Locations list (based on the information I receive during our consult call and the getting-to-know-you questionnaire), I had compiled a list of some of the most spectacular coastal locations throughout Australia and New Zealand. Georgia and Tom had shared with me their love for scuba-diving and were leaning toward including that as part of their elopement adventure - but just as I was about to hit the "send" button, I remembered a venue that was close by to me here in The Scenic Rim. I reassured them both, that I know it didn't quite fit the brief of anything we had spoken about previously, but I had an intuitive inclination to include it amongst their options. And low and behold, my intuition pays off again, as Tom & Georgia settled on the gorgeous Overflow Estate for their Intimate Wedding fiesta!

The attentive host, Jillian, had a fabulous idea of tapping in to the "fun" aspect by treating the couple and their guests to a wine tasting after the ceremony. A great way to show off the wines from the Estate, while making a bit of an activity out of it by allowing everyone to play "sommelier" and sample and choose their favourite drop! Chef Olivier from Two French Chefs worked closely with the couple to curate a delicious tasting menu that catered to everyones dietary needs, while also adding some very personal touches to the table styling with his personal collection of linen and bone dinnerware that had been handed down in his family for over 8 generations (over a Century old!). The silver charger plates dated back to the 1800s!

Georgia and Thomas’ incredible Elopement in the heart of The Scenic Rim was an absolute DREAM to be a part of 😍 A ceremony full of heart and meaning, surrounded by a select few loved ones, overlooking the incredible Lake Wyaralong — traditional lands of the Mununjali clan 🤎
